WRITER'S NOTES:

I wrote this song after attending a high school re-union.  I met a girl that I had gotten to know way back then.  I was always a bit shy around girls back then (even still today!) and I guess I never told her how I felt about her.  We had barely gotten to the holding hands at the movies, peck on the cheek goodnight point in our relationship, when one of those much more self confident guys started hitting on her, and I guess that's what women really like, and well.... the rest was history. 

So anyway, when I met her at this re-union, she was alone, and so was I.  The song that was playing was kinda slow, and one that I enjoyed.  So I went up to ask her to dance.  When she appeared undecided, I said "Come on, just for old time's sake."  And we danced.

And that was the end of the story.  But the song came out of that.  About a year later, I just got to thinking about it, and thought it was pretty interesting.
